Product Recalls: Bell Sports Helmet Recall

Bell Sports is recalling thousands of Bell Exodus full-face bicycle and motorcycle helmets.  The cause of the recall is rooted in the helmet’s plastic buckle, which is faulty.  This buckle can cause the chinstrap to break, which can in turn make the helmet fall off of the cyclist’s head.   According the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the company received several reports complaining about the faulty product.  In one report, the buckle gave during an accident, which resulted in injuries to the cyclist’s eye.  Both Walmart and have sold about 30,000 of these helmets between 2009 and 2011.  Consumers are urged to stop wearing the helmets immediately and to contact Bell Sports pertaining replacement and refund.
