Drunk Driver Injures Five in Illinois Crash

According to the Coles County Sheriff’s Department, Wilbur Otto, 23, was driving under the influence Sunday morning on Illinois Route 130. The car crash left all five of the van’s passengers injured. Otto told investigators that his van’s left front tire blew out which caused him to lose control. His vehicle then ran into a ditch and rolled various times. Police report that Otto admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the accident.

Driving under the influence is dangerous and leads to numerous accidents each year. According to Mothers Against drunk driving, in 2011, around 10,839 people will be killed in drunk-driving accidents. If you or a loved one has been harmed or killed as a result of a car accident in which the other driver was under the influence, it is imperative that you contact a Missouri injury lawyer. An injury attorney can talk to you today at 314.409.7060.
