Information was released today on the east-central Illinois car accident that killed two young girls and left six individuals injured. The crash took place last Wednesday in Coles County, when a 2003 Chevy van crossed into oncoming traffic and then collided with a semitrailer. The van then flipped causing seven people to be ejected from its interior. Of the eight people in the van, six were injured and passengers Tanisha Madigan, 12, and Harley Madigan, 15, both died at the scene. According to Illinois State Police, the driver was ticketed for improper lane usage, failure to wear a safety belt, speeding, operating an uninsured automobile and possessing an invalid driver’s license. Prayers go out to the family and friends of the Madigan girls and to the six other passengers who were injured in this unfortunate accident.
