In Sikeston, Missouri at around 12:30 yesterday afternoon, a 49-year-old Sikeston resident ran over a 2-year-old outside of a Fast Gas station on East Street. According the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, the woman who struck the toddler fled the scene of the accident. As for the little girl, her injuries are listed as serious and critical. The doctors told the family of the little girl that her injuries are a lot worse than they had initially thought. Fortunately, several Sikeston residents were on hand and helped remove the little girl from underneath the vehicle where she was trapped, which may have saved her life.
