According to Safercar.gov, Fleetwood RV is currently recalling several models for dangerous defects. The models include: 2011 Bounder, Bounder Classic, Storm, Southwind, and certain Terra Class A motor homes. The recall affects Fleetwood motor homes built on Ford Chassis and manufactured between May 4, 2010 and January 26, 2011. The recall stems from the wire harness, which is located relatively close to the vehicle’s heat shield. A melted or damaged wire harness could potentially cause electrical shock or even a fire.
Fleetwood owner relations will inspect and potentially change the positioning of the wire harness free of charge. For more information on the RV recall, visit safecar.gov. Due to these vehicles being used for sleeping, it is extremely important to pay attention to the recall to prevent a fire while asleep.
