A motorcycle accident that took place Thursday, July 7th killed one woman and seriously injured a man. The accident occurred around two miles west of West Plains in Howell County, Missouri. Missouri State Police reported that the forty-four-year-old man was driving his ’96 Harley due east on CC Highway with a forty-nine-year-old woman on the back of the motorcycle. His Harley ran off the road for unknown reasons and struck a ditch. The female was pronounced dead while the driver remains in serious condition. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says this accident marks the 18th fatality for 2011 compared to the 14 motorcycle fatalities that occurred by this same date last year.
